Goizo

Goizo ( ゴイゾ ) is one of the Old Gods that threaten to destroy Shiokawa, Japan. Its summoning ritual apparently involves placing a mirror in the center of a sigil.

Descriptions[]

Pre-playthough Introduction[]

GoizoSummoning

"Banished to the other dimension a long time ago, GOIZO has found a way to use mirrors to ensnare and teleport its prey straight through the glass. Glimpses of horror lurking behind your reflection are just the beginning..."

Goizo's Old God summoning text is mostly the same as written above; however the final sentence instead reads "And the glimpses behind your reflections are just the beginning of a real nightmare."

Pantheon[]

"The OLD GOD was imprisoned in another dimension aeons ago by an advanced race of humanoid reptiles. Over the years, the barrier between dimensions weakened, allowing GOIZO to use mirrors and kidnap its prey."

Appearance[]

GoizoIntro

Goizo's appearance is highly abstract and never seen in full, as it is trapped behind mirrors. From what can be discerned of it, it is a many-tentacled creature with a large, toothy mouth, possessing a pronounced underbite, and likely has six-to-eight small, glowing eyes arranged in a spider-like pattern.

Goizo Ending

During any playthrough in which Goizo is the Old God threatening to destroy the world, if your DOOM reaches 100%, you will be shown a special bad ending.

"The horrible GOD snatched almost everyone from your city. Weeks later, you and a group of survivors have managed to cover all mirrors of a building you currently reside in.

When you see your reflection in your lover's eyes, it takes you a while to realize the gut-wrenching implications. You start to scream - GOIZO has found another way in."

The final log entries that appear after you are shown this bad ending state that the player's cause of death is "Devoured by GOIZO".

Trivia and Theories[]

  • The original form of Goizo comes from the Japanese horror movie "Guzoo, the thing forsaken by god"(《GUZOO~神に見捨てられしもの~》)[1]
    • In the movie, several young women went to a villa on vacation, but were attacked by monsters raised in the villa. The monster in the movie has multiple tentacles and can prey on humans through the mirror.
