Descriptions[]
Old God / Pre-playthrough Selection Screen[]
"Slithering through the twisted tapestry of dimensions, the festering servants of Eh-Żhal latch onto new vessels, ravenously devouring the very essence of human suffering, swelling their grotesque forms. Slowly but inenvitably, the hosts succumb, their bodies and minds becoming one with the burgeoning god."
Appearance[]
Eh-Żhal's appearance is that of a vaguely humanoid being, with a void replacing where its face would usually be, similar to the Dream Devourer; However, its body seems to be less cohesive and takes on a more melted form, and it is also complete with leg-like appendages unlike the Dream Devourer.
Old God's Rule[]
AL-misery: Each mystery, a new status will start to weigh you down.
The unique negative statuses given by choosing Eh-Żhal as the Old God are displayed within the "Misery Parasite" status, which is given to your character at the start of your first mystery. The "Misery Parasite" status also allows one to discard funds.

The statuses include:
- 2% DOOM for each spell
- 2% DOOM for each ALLY
- 2% DOOM for each FUNDS
- 2% DOOM for each ITEM in inventory (Does not count items that are equipped)
- 1% DOOM for each injury
- 1% DOOM for each curse
- 1% DOOM for every 10 EXP (Rounded down)
Eh-Żhal Events[]
Eh-Żhal is the only Old God with no specific events.
Bad Ending[]
During any playthrough in which Eh-Żhal is the Old God threatening to destroy the world, if your DOOM reaches 100%, you will be shown a special bad ending.
"It was only a matter of time. The MISERY PARASITES took almost everything from you. The last thing they took, after weeks of torture, was your life.
Once a human being, now you've become one with the God of the Inconceivable Sadness."
The final log entries that appear after you are shown this bad ending state that the player's cause of death is "Inconceivable Sadness".
Trivia[]
According to panstasz (via Discord), Eh-Żhal's summoning item's shape is based on the mirror in his house.
The name "Eh-Żhal" includes a character from the Polish alphabet, suggesting a Polish interpretation. Its pronunciation in Polish means "oh sorrow," which relates to the way the Old God functions. "Oh sorrow," or in Polish "ech żal," is a common expression used to vocalize temporary sorrow in minor situations.
