"You discover a giant plush toy half-buried in a ditch. Feeling uneasy, you take a step back but it's already too late..."
Dream Eater is an Enemy encounter in World of Horror.
Dream Eater is not unlocked by default. To unlock it, players must win four playthroughs and unlock the Extended B card pack.
Description[]
The Dream Eater appears to be a tapir-like creature. The muzzle has blood on it and its eye, instead of that of an actual tapir, is large and human-like, placed on the base of the trunk. A chunk of flesh is missing next to the eye, and it appears to have chunks of its fur missing.
The introduction text and the assess text of the Dream Eater suggest that the creature is brightly colored or made of material typically used to develop toys.
Location[]
Dream Eater can be encountered while investigating the Forest.
Enemy Actions[]
- "Join the voices..."
- "Why should you resist?..."
Bugs[]
- The Dream Devourer has the Monster enemy type icon but its inspected type is listed as Eldritch instead.
Trivia[]
- The Dream Eater is inspired from the Japanese mythological creatures Baku. However, the mythological Baku are shy creatures that devour dreams, while the Dream Eater are malevolent creatures that attack the player.
- Its appearance appears to be a nod to the Japanese term Baku, which is used to describe a Malayan tapir, similar to the Dream Eater resembling a tapir.
- Dream Eater shares the exact same combat text as Together. It's unknown whether it is intentional or an oversight.
