The Bone Saw is a Knowledge weapon in World of Horror. It is unlocked by ontaining the achievement for finishing a playthrough with over 90% DOOM.
This sharp surgical tool possesses a high base damage of 5 and a relatively okay hit chance at 70%. However, the Bone Saw is clunky to use as a weapon, resulting in its slow speed stat of 100.
The Bone Saw possesses an ability to do 1 extra damage against Undead enemies, but this feature is currently bugged and does not work.
Combat[]
The Bone Saw's formidable damage and decent hit chance makes for a strong early-game weapon. Its likely to be somewhat more effective than the other Knowledge weapons, except the Small Candle, earlier on with low to medium stats. However, the underwhelming speed of the Bone Saw compared to the other Knowledge choices means it will itself be outcompeted as the player levels up throughout a run.
Furthermore, the slow speed of the Bone Saw makes it difficult for characters with lower Strength and Dexterity to perform the Dodge or Brace defensive actions per turn, resulting in more damage taken. The player may consider buying the Camera for its Flash support action, which acts as a faster Dodge.
The Bone Saw's special ability to do more damage against Undead enemies might make it seem more appealing. However, the feature is currently broken and does not work.
Despite its many shortfalls, the Bone Saw still functions as a direct upgrade to the Wooden Bat, doing 1 more damage while having the same speed and hit chance. It also outperforms the similarly slow and hard-hitting Shovel. Another upside is that the Bone Saw is cheaper than its fellow Pharmacy weapon, the Scalpel, by 1 FUND.
Ultimately, the Bone Saw is a decent but flawed weapon that can serve the player well enough early on, but is best swopped out for a better weapon later in the run.
